Hello.
My name is Josh.
After coming to terms with the fact that my becoming an astronaut was not going to happen, it was time for Plan B. I decided to go for the next best thing. A job title so prestigious, they would never let just anyone print it on a business card. That's right, I became...a Graphic Designer.
I now have an Associates Degree in Graphic Design and have gained nearly 11 years of experience as a full-time Graphic Designer. The last year and a half, I have been working as the Creative Director and Photographer for one of my previous employers, a made-to-measure menswear company. Prior to that, I spent just over 7 years working in roles such as Creative Coordinator, Senior Designer and Photographer. One of those companies was a small agency located in central Mississippi. Shortly after coming on board with the agency, I took on the role of lead designer for our largest client at the time, Ashley Furniture Homestore. Like any good designer, I've also fielded my fair share of freelance work during this time. I've included some selected works on this site.
I love learning new skills and putting them to use as often as I can. When I am not working as a graphic designer, I enjoy woodworking. I even started my own side business a little over a year ago doing woodwork under the name Rukus Woodshop. It has allowed me more opportunities to show my creativity using other mediums. My skills as a graphic designer often go hand in hand with building things and I enjoy being able to combine those two.
I'm always looking to expand my horizons. If you'd like to know more about my expertise, see more examples of my work or just say hello, please contact me and view my résumé below.
